This congress is the premier meeting point for scientists around the world involved in genetic improvement of livestock.

Much has changed in the field of applied livestock genetics over the past 50 years, and certainly over the last 34 years, since the first WCGALP was held in Madrid in 1974.

In the first week of August 2010, we will hear and read about many topics, including the following:

The state of the art in quantitative and molecular genetics will be presented, and current knowledge on population genetics and genetic improvement strategies will be updated for each species, in order to discuss future prospects of animal breeding.
